Chytrid fungus, Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis, causes a diease deadly to frogs all around the world: chytridiomycosis. This 3D animation explores the life cycle of chytrid fungus, from spore to cyst, then thallus to zoosporangium. This was my first 3D animation, so I used the simple forms to explore different methods of animation such as soft and rigid body dynamics, particles, displacement, volumes, and align to spline. We started with an animatic, of which I created two versions to update scientific errors during my research process.
